Books

Once babies start to understand their environment and look around, cloth books are a great thing they can manipulate, hold, crumble, suck on. They have interesting colors, and the children learn how different things feel. Crinkle books make noise, which of course is really exciting.

When they get older, cardboard picture books can help with language development. “Read” through a book with your child gets him accustomed to how we read books from beginning to end. Point to the pictures, and say the name. "Cat," "dog," "car," all basic things. This helps the child learn the sounds of language and start building a vocabulary.
