Early Childhood Development

The United States is a country with a lot of opportunities, but it takes work to realize those opportunities.

Contrary to Guatemala, in America children are expected to go to school for at least 12 years. This may sound like a lot, and it may sound ridiculous, but there is a reason for this. All but the most basic jobs in America expect the workers to have this much education. For many good-paying jobs, in fact, you need a college degree, which only starts after these 12 years.

But children start learning from the moment they are born, and the best learning really takes place before they even go to school. This is known as “early childhood development” and that is what this page is talking about.
